Valentine's Weekend Celebration with Piet Pompies Live Performance on Sunday 16/02/2025 @ 14:00 - 16:00 - R3 Entry Fee
Monday 10 February 2025 4:00pm to Sunday 16 February 2025 4:00pm

The former lead singer of the dynamic, hilarious group DJ Ossewa, Pieter Rischmuller, AKA Piet Pompies, with the brown bowler hat, decided in 2014 to spread his wings, discover new horizons, experience new adventures and sing the world on fire, and entertain audiences with his foot-stomping, pulsating, body-swinging songs and witty, sparkling stage personality.

Pieter Rischmuller is not only a singer/songwriter, radio personality and joker, but also a TV presenter at net-afrikaans.com, and an excellent auctioneer and MC for all occasions as well as a keen golfer, and also known in the fishing world. He made his debut as a radio presenter in 1996 and later also a sports commentator, before taking on the music industry in 2003 with the group, DJ Ossewa.

In 2014, Piet Pompies decided to conquer the world on his own steam, with songs such as Briljantjie, Lyf is soos 'n lovesong, Fynbos, Engeltjie, Hard to get, and Hoop. His first solo album titled "SOLO" made his appearance in October 2014, and is played on various radio stations across the country. His English songs "Show me more" and "3 Words" are also played on radio stations around the world. The song "3 Words" was Pieter's first full-fledged Country song, and made big headlines in the US in particular, and was nominated for an international award.

In 2018 his next album was released by VONK Musiek under his real name, as Pieter Rischmuller, and once again Pieter Rischmuller alias Piet Pompies, put hits on the album. 4 of the album's songs were already No.1 on several radio stations' Hits parade. Look out for new songs like "Just Bring Your Sister Together", "My Harlequin", "Fox Dance Tonight", "Summer Time", "Goodbye Is Just For Now", "Supercalifragilistic", "Rock Hard For You Fallen".

In his 30 years in the entertainment industry, he has written many popular songs, and in 2021 Pieter Rischmuller decided to share his passion for Country music with the world as well, with great success.

Pieter Rischmuller decided to show the world that there was much more to him, than just the upbeat party songs for which he had become famous. Already he has taken care of a head-shifting song that speaks to your soul, with his own creation "Cry on my shoulder" already available in digital form, as well as Youtube. The song has already received international recognition and is being played worldwide. Then he also recorded a nice cheerful party song with his namesake Pieter Smith ( Stukkie vd Merwe), with the title "Wiese Brannewyn".

IN 2021 he gained recognition for his music at the Afri-India independent music awards, by being named Best Male Artist for 2021, and in the same year Pieter received 5 Nominations for the South African Country music awards and walked away with 3 Awards for his songs Rodeo, Jag op Tulbach, and Country Girl. The latter hit made big headlines at Country music radio stasis around the world. Pieter entered the Television market in 2021 as the presenter of the programme Twakpraat met Piet Pompies, and then in 2023 the programme HoekToe on the afrikaans pay channel Net-Afrikaans. In 2022, Pieter will release a lot of new songs again. Almost there, anything, Boshoff Afrikaners, and Christmas Star.

"Anything" received the Afri-Indie Award in 2022 for the Southern Rock single of the year, and Pieter also received the Afri-Indie Award for Best Southern Rock music video, as well as Best Southern Rock Live act for 2022. "Anything" was also well received by radio stasis around the world and also made the "Charts" on several radio stasis in the US. "Anything" also received the award at the SA Country music Awards, as best Male Country Single for 2022.

"Christamas Star" was Pieter Rischmuller's first Christmas song, which he wrote and recorded with the popular SA Country group WEST. The song was also heard on radio stations worldwide.

"Boshoff Afrikaners" is still on hits parades in SA in 2023 and was in Bloemfontein at No. 1 on Rosestad Stereo for 7 weeks and even held the No. 1 position in Mpumalanga on Radio Laeveld. "Boshoff Afrikaners" has also been nominated for an award for best Afrikaans song by Afri-Indie for 2023.

In 2023, Pieter Rischmuller is again nominated by the Afri-Indie Awards in 6 categories. One of the nominations is for his latest release titled "Oh yes".

He made the transformation from Piet Pompies to Pieter Rischmuller successful and strategic, and his music is available on all digital platforms. If you listen to his wide variety of music, his success around the world, and attend his performances, you can see why he is labelled as one of South Africa's music legends by audiences across the country.
